IOS Software Installation, Upgrading, and Uninstalling

Eventually you will want to install/uninstall apps and Upgrade your IOS on your iPhone, iPad, etc. The tips below will help you do these task.
Upgrading To The Latest IOS
Everyone loves to have the greatest of any thing technology related like the latest IOS, but some times it is not the best thing to do Your decision should be made very carefully. Below are some things you should take into consideration.
1.Will your IOS device run it with no problems. Check the requirements of the latest version. If your IOS device barely meets then I recommend you not upgrade, because it most cases your device will be very slow.
2.Read the reviews of the IOS, because some times the latest version is not good. If the latest version gets bad reviews, then think again. CNET Reviews PCMage.com , and Techradarare to good websites to read reviews.
3.Wait a while before upgrading. Most of times when a new version is released there are bugs in it. I recommend waiting for a couple revisions before upgrading for some of the big bugs to be worked on.
The tips below will make your life easier when you upgrade.
1.Back up your IOS device, so it would be easy to recover from a bad install. I would suggest making both an on site, and off site.
2.Uninstall any programs, and remove any music that you do not need. The more space you have the less problems you will have. Look at the Uninstall An App From Your Device to see how to uninstall Apps.
3.When you upgrade your device plug it into the wall to guarantee that your device will go off while installing the new OS.
4. Consider plugging the device into your computer instead of upgrading it wireless. This will speed up the upgrade a lot.
5.Close all programs before upgrading to the latest IOS see the following section to learn how to close programs.
6.A clean install is the best way to upgrade upgrade your device to get rid of all of the junk that is on. If you do so remember to back it up first. Check out Performing A Clean Install section to perform a clean install.
How To Upgrade To The New IOS
To upgrade to the latest IOS just do the following
Plug the device in
Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Tap Download and Install to download the update. Updates might download automatically while your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a power source.
Tap Install when the download completes, or tap Later to install the update later.
Closing Programs In IOS
To close a program in IOS 6just: press the Home button to you see the screen that shows all of the open programs, press on the program's shortcut until you see an X in the left corner and then click on the X..
Closing programs in IOS 7 is different then older versions. To close a program just: press the Home button to you see the screen that shows all of the open programs, and swipe your finger up.
Performing A Clean Install
Plug your iOS device into your computer Make sure you have Itunes open.
Wait for iTunes to detect the iOS device
Reboot the iOS device by Hold the power and home button down until it powers off.
Put the iOS device into "Recovery Mode" by by releasing both buttons after it power off and then hold the home button down for 10 seconds before the apple logo appearing.
Restore your iOS device by going into iTunes, clicking the OK button on the dialog box that appears to notify you that it's detected a iOS device in Recover Mode. Click the Restore Button to restore the device to Factory Default. This should take 5-10 minutes
Setup your iOS Device. On your iOS device, answer the default questions until you get to the Home Screen.Give the device a new name Do not sync anything to the phone
Backup the iOS Device by right clicking the iOS device and choose backup
Rename your iOS Device so future backups to occur without overwriting the "Clean Backup"

What To Do When An App Will Not Install
Have you every had problems install an App from the App store. If not you are lucky. If you have problems installing try the following:
Make sure you have you have a good Wireless signal on your device. When it comes to installing an app it is best to use Wifi, or even to better hook your device to your computer.
Try doing a hard reset of the device and try again. Most of time this will resolve the issue. This can be done by holding the Home and Power button in until you see the Apple.

Checking And Installing Updates
To check for updates to your apps is very easy. To check for and install updates just:
Open the iTunes App Store on your IOS device
Tap the Updates icon at the bottom of the screen
If you see (in the middle of the screen) a message that says, “All Apps are Up-to-date,” then none of the apps on your device require an update at this time. If an app update is available, then there will be Update button next to it. Tap the button to update the app. If more than one app has an update available then you can update them all at once by tapping the Update All button at the bottom of the screen.
Enter your iTunes password if prompt.
Uninstall An App From Your Device
Uninstalling an app from your device is very easy. Just hold the App icon in til you get the X in a circle in the upper left hand corner, press on the X, and follow the on screen prompts if you see any.
